On this page, I will provide a list of interesting projects I'm currently involved in: - XBMC Plugins - I'm programming lot of plugins for the XBox Media Center, an open source media center for the old Microsoft XBox. These plugins will enable you to watch video content from many different websites.
- Project MaX - MazeXplorer - my former student project. At my university every computer science student needs to take part in a student project for four semesters before writing the diploma thesis. I chose to take part in the project of the groups Cognitive Neuroinformatics and Cognitive Systems. This project (with around 20 students) developed a biologically inspired agent that can explore virtual environments and later navigate through the rooms. I mostly worked on the vision system of the agent, which extracts relevant features from scenes and then analyzes them with (human-like) saccadic eye movements. These are used to build up sensory-motor features that are learned and stored in a knowledge base. The eye movements are driven by an information gain criterium (Inference by Information Gain - IBIG) that always prefers the most informative features to be focused with the next eye movement.
